Jitender Prasad, MD

Dr. Prasad is an attending anesthesiologist and partner at Advanced Perioperative Medicine, P.A. as well as the president of the Executive Committee.

Previously, Dr. Prasad was the director of the department of anesthesia and a member of the Quality Improvement and Operating Room Committees at The General Hospital Center at Passaic (Passaic, NJ), an attending anesthesiologist at PBI Regional Medical Center (formerly The General Hospital Center at Passaic), and an attending anesthesiologist at the Hospital for Joint Diseases & Orthopedic Institute (affiliated with New York University Medical Center & Beth Israel Medical Center – New York, NY). While living in England, Dr. Prasad served as a consultant anesthesiologist at the District General Hospital (Great Yarmouth), and a registrar in anesthesiology at Scarborough Hospital (Scarborough), Leicester Royal Infirmary (Leicester), Whittington Hospital (London), and The Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital (London). 

Dr. Prasad attended Osmania University in India, receiving his Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees, as well as a Diploma in Anesthesia (DA). He completed his fellowship training in anesthesia at NYU Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital and Veteran Admiration Hospital.

He received his Fellowship in the Faculty of Anesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (which is equivalent to the American Board of Anesthesiology) and licensed in New Jersey and New York.

Dr. Prasad has been published in British Journal of Anesthesia and British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
